Protasius: A Sinner Seeking to be a Saint
Thursday, 25 August 2005
Introduction
Several of my friends have started blogs, and I have found them to be quite interesting. I am a big fan of email, but blogs seem to offer several features that email doesn't. Primarily, in my opinion, they can build and maintain a sort of community that email cannot. Therefore I thought a blog would be a great way of keeping touch with friends, especially those who don't particularly like using email.

In addition, I find that I am often thinking but owing to present circumstances, there is very little time to actually discuss and have my thoughts criticized. The other day I was able to have dinner with two friends and we were able to engage in some excellent conversation, but it took up most of the evening and would be rather difficult to repeat on a regular basis. I wondered if perhaps a blog could provide something similar without taking as much time. I am concerned that without criticism, my thoughts will simply keep running in the same loop and I will not come to any greater understanding. Therefore it seemed that a blog might allow me the opportunity to express my thoughts and leave them open to critique and would also allow others to share their thoughts for the benefit of all.

I have chosen to use a portion of my confirmation name for the title of this blog. I do that for three reasons. Firstly, to give honor to the saint and martyr, Jeong Kuk-bo Protasius (?????? ??????????) whose name I took at confirmation, second, as a reminder that I must seek to be a saint as he is, and thirdly, as a reminder to always be charitable and moral while working on this blog.

I hope to hear from people soon and to be able to regularly post. God bless,
Protasius
